Working with couples, women, and children and leading Bible studies is a passion of mine. I am interested in helping people walk through the challenging struggles of life. I have been trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Bringing Baby Home, Treating Affairs and Trauma, and The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work. I am also a trained SYMBIS facilitator for premarital counseling. I apply Biblical truths to help people strengthen relationships and help people learn skills, set and achieve goals to deal with affairs, trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD and other life challenges. I have a heart for seeing marriages, families, and individuals thrive and for teaching about God's love and the redemptive and healing work of Christ. I earned my BA in Psychology and English at Presbyterian College, and then attended the University of Georgia for graduate school in Education and subsequently taught elementary school. I have been married to Charlie for over thirty years and am blessed to have six children. Over the years, I have been involved in tutoring and mentoring programs in the community and in my church in the Augusta area. I am currently working on a Masters in Pastoral Counseling. After an initial meeting, virtual appointments are an option if that is helpful with scheduling.

My interests are to work with women and children in moving them toward the abundant life that can be found in Jesus Christ. I help clients to find purpose and to navigate through major life transitions. I specifically assist children with learning challenges such as, reading, writing, and math, and those struggling with executive functioning. I will help establish routines, set goals, create boundaries, and to manage emotions and organizational challenges. As these learning challenges can affect the entire family, I also work with parents and coach them on. How to help their child at home, including some effective parenting strategies.

Being a senior citizen myself, I also work with senior citizens on the many challenges we face during the aging process. When grieving a spouse, I will work with the client on establishing new routines and their dependence on and growth in the Lord. I also work with those who are assisting their aging parents and how to maintain boundaries while still honoring their parents.

I have taught in the public and private sectors for over 30 years. I have a BSed in Elementary Education from Georgia Southern University and a MSed in Learning Disabilities from Augusta University. I am currently enrolled in Light University and working toward a certification in life coaching.
